Marina Arakelian is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker with over 20 years of experience in treating individuals, couples and families. She is a graduate of Columbia University, School of Social Work and a graduate of the Institute of Contemporary Psychotherapy in NYC where she received her certification to practice psychoanalysis and psychoanalytic psychotherapy. She is also a certified Grief Recovery therapist.
Marina’s clinical experience includes working in acute, in-patient psychiatric units to out-patient psychiatric settings including NY-Presbyterian Hospital, Payne Whitney Psychiatric Institute, Beth Israel Hospital and Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston. She is part of a group practice in Brookline, MA called Brookline Psychiatric Associates and has taught in the Two Year Post Graduate Program in Psychotherapy at the Institute for Contemporary Psychotherapy in NYC.
Marina provides a warm, safe, interactive environment utilizing a variety of treatment modalities including relational, psychodynamic and cognitive-behavioral to explore, understand and work through symptoms of depression, anxiety, loss impacting one’s self-esteem, interpersonal relationships, and academic or professional functioning to assist individuals in fulfilling their own unique goals and personal potential.
